Phones should be used for classwork only. If your phone is visible, you should be able to explain how you are using it for class work.

Headphones, earbuds, etc. are not allowed in class.

If you have trouble with your computer or Photoshop, be sure we fix that at the beginning of class. If you wait until I come to check work that is too late.

What I want you to know or do:
1. Take and upload a digital photo
2. Use Photoshop to apply digital imaging to the photo
3. Send the finished photo as an email attachment

What you can do today:
1. Finish and turn in your mask if you have not.
1. Use magazine photos, markers, colored pencils, or something even more creative, to create a mask that reflects your personality

2. Find one example of a black and white photo showing "good" value and one showing "poor" value. You can Google or you can photograph in the room. Save into your documents folder.

Value 

The lightness or darkness of tones or colors. White is the lightest value; black is the darkest. The value halfway between these extremes is called middle gray. Space An element of art by which positive and negative areas are defined or a sense of depth achieved in a work of art .

3. With a partner.....
1. Use magazine photos, markers, colored pencils, etc., to create a mask that reflects your personality
2. Get a portrait made, holding the mask in front of your face.
3. Load the photo onto your computer

Doing this with a partner reading directions for another computer will help.
4. Open the photo in Photoshop
5. Convert the photo to black and white 
6. Apply Photoshop adjustments
7. Save as JPEG and email to me at 
topperselfie@gmail.com. Type your first and last name, your block, and "mask" in the subject line of the email.

loading photos from an SD card

Open your account

On your desktop or in your documents folder, make a new folder titled "Name of Assignment" Photos. Example for an assignments named Face Collage, type Face Collage Photos.



Go to the Finder face at the bottom of the dock and click



Select this icon




Put the SD card in the slot on the back of the computer



If Camera Upload, or a window similar to this comes up, press cancel




Double click on the SD card icon when it appears on your desktop





If there is a DCIM icon, double click on it

Double click or click the down arrow on this folder
You should get this


Double click or click the down arrow on the top folder.
You should get a window like this (without the red written words).




Scroll and find your photo or photos

Drag them into your Assignment Photos folder and save it into your documents folder

IMPORTANT:
You can damage the SD card if you do not do this next step correctly.

When you are finished with your SD card, click and hold on the SD card icon.
Continue to hold and drag it to the Trash icon in the dock at the bottom of your computer.
When the SD icon disappears from your desktop, take it out of slot in the back of the computer.
